Five Fish Resort, originally known as Martin's Camp, was named after the lumber mill that operated on this site. Mr. Delphis Martin and his wife Celina came to the Alban, French River area from Buckingham, Quebec in the early 1920's. After working for several years at area saw mills, Delphis purchased the Eli Prescotte farm. He then built a saw mill on his newly acquired property and ran it for a number of years. The white cottage on the point is the last remaining structure of the mill, and originally served as the mill's cookhouse.
In 1958, one of Delphis and Celina's suns, Aime Martin, along with his wife, decided to open a camp on the site of the old mill. They called it Martin's Camp & Trailer Park. Through three successive owners, the camp has grown and flourished, while maintaining its friendly atmosphere.
Today, Five Fish Resort, carries on that 45-year tradition, as a wonderful, relaxing place to spend your summer.
